The Texas Education Agency on Wednesday released accountability ratings for school districts and charter schools across the state, ranking them on a letter-grade scale of "A" through "F" for the first time.

Businesses and corporations often consider school quality alongside cost of living, traffic, air travel and other factors when considering relocations or expansions.

Districts received a grade based on graduation rates, results on Advanced Placement and ACT tests, general and alternate assessments, STAAR test progress and performance addressing gaps between student groups based on race, ethnicity, socio-economic background and other factors.

Here's how multi-campus school districts and charters ranked in the five-county Austin area — which covers Travis, Williamson, Hays, Caldwell and Bastrop counties.
