Shreé Medlock

Shreé was the Director of Parent & Community Engagement at Texans for Quality Public Charter Schools (TXQPCS), a coalition of 15 high quality performance charter management organizations in Texas.

Shreé has worked in the advocacy arena for more than sixteen years, primarily with the Black Alliance for Educational Options (BAEO), where she was the National Advocacy Director. In this role, Shreé led BAEO’s state – based advocacy teams and worked with others to create, expand and implement school choice options including charter schools and vouchers. Additionally, Shreé has designed and delivered seminars and workshops to inform and empower parents to advocate for more educational options for their children.

In her role, Shreé is responsible for working with school personnel to create and implement an organizing strategy that will help protect and expand public charter schools.

Shreé has two children, Brandon who resides in Dallas, TX and Jennifer, a first year teacher in Memphis, TN.


Erika Rocha

Erika Rocha is the Central Texas Outreach & Field Manager for Central Texas at TCSA. Erika works closely with various Austin public charter schools’ staff empowering parents to advocate for students on a wide range of different issues both at the state and local level. With these efforts, Erika is creating a road map for the rest of the state to follow. Erika has worked on several state and local elections increasing voter participation and helping neighbors organize their communities. In addition, she has worked with the President’s non-profit organization on issue-based campaigns advocating alongside community leaders promoting sensible policy.


Karen Britton

Before moving to Austin in 2017 to take the job as Executive Assistant for Texans for Quality Public Charter Schools, Karen worked as Executive Assistant for a large Texas employer in the Houston area.

In her role, Karen assists in the political, communications, and grassroots efforts of the public charter school movement in the State of Texas.  

A University of Houston alumnus, Karen is married to Steve and they have four children and two granddaughters. In her personal time, she enjoys reading, hiking and quilting.
