Charter School Graduate Spotlight

Daniela Pahari, an International Leadership of Texas Keller-Saginaw High School Senior, has been accepted and will be attending Brown University’s Liberal Medical Education (PLME).

PLME is the only combined bachelor’s-MD program in the Ivy League system. Brown University currently accepts 3% of applicants who apply. Daniela has also been accepted into several prestigious universities such as Massachusetts Institute of Technology (#1, According to QS World University Rankings), University of Chicago (#3), Columbia University (#5), and Washington & Lee University (#10 in Liberal Arts Colleges).* Additionally, she was selected as a John Jay Scholar at Columbia. This award comes with a $60,000 scholarship funds. Less than 1% of undergraduate students at Columbia are chosen. The award letters she has received to date total $1,000,000 in scholarship funds to help continue her education.

Outside of her academics, she is also a co-founder of the student-led Nurturing Universal Feminism (NUF) outreach program. The program’s purpose is to send feminine products to women around the world without access to such crucial feminine hygiene products. They have sent donations to Uganda, Rwanda, and Zambia. NUF has sent over 8,000 products to Uganda, Rwanda, and Zambia to date with another 1,500 products shipping this spring. Daniela also made time to become a double black belt in Tae Kwon Do and while teaching special-needs classes in Tae Kwon Do as well. To further her goals of helping others in need, Daniela has become certified in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
